DEIJ STRATEGIC PLANNING
Sankofa Solutions provides strategic planning services to support institutions in identifying DEIJ goals. The strategic plan process includes the following steps:
ANALYSIS & ASSESSMENT
The first step in any strategic plan is assessing the current happenings of the institution. This will include assessing the institution's cultural conditions as well as all policies, and procedures incorporating DEIJ. A SWOT analysis will also be conducted to evaluate the institution in tandem with peer organization's current DEIJ functions.
STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
After analysis and assessment are complete, we establish DEIJ goals that align with the organization's values, mission, and vision. From there, we collectively develop a strategy for who, how, and what must be involved in order to accomplish said goals.
STRATEGY EXECUTION
After goals and strategy have been established, we develop a timeline for execution with consistent opportunities for monitoring throughout the process.
GENDER SUPPORT PLANS
A gender support plan is a detailed form that helps create understanding amongst all constituents in an organization about the ways in which gender will be accounted for and supported. While the content within a gender plan is tailored to a client's needs, generally all GSPs include questions about the following:

DEIJ TRAINING COURSE DESIGN

Sankofa solutions' DEIJ training centers on the importance of organizations understanding the impact of how equity-centered issues impact their organizational systems, relationships, and processes with internal and external community members. Training aim to:

COMMUNITY CENTERED CAPSTONE PROGRAM
The community-centered capstone program is designed for organizations that desire to connect their constituents with the community. The community-centered capstone requires constituents to partner with a community organization of their choice to both research and develop an end product that supports the advancement of the organization's cause. In cases where the program is implemented in schools, Sankofa Solutions work with the administration to design the capstone program as a course.
Project Description
This is a mostly independent program with a highly creative product that builds upon skills that you have developed during school or in your life. The focus of the Capstone program's central factor is the product you create. For example, if you are an accomplished musician, you may choose to create a product alongside a music or arts-centered organization. Please note that you must have demonstrated experience to be approved for a Capstone project. The Capstone program will be under the guidance/supervision of an on-campus or off-campus mentor. The work will be mostly independent, but not completely unchaperoned. The Capstone program will conclude with a tangible final product that can be implemented by the organization you choose to work with.
